Lewis Daylily Garden (original) (raw)
Favorite daylily videos from the 2024 season
This video from July 14th, 2024 has a lot in it. Check out Richard J. Howard (Ridder) and Paintball Party (Ridder) in this video. Spectacular!
This year I got a drone to shoot videos and you can see how nice the quality is in the beginning of this video.
This video shows some of my future introductions including Orchestral Maneuvers in the Dark and Purple Voodoo.
Check out the daylily Paintball Party (Ridder) and my future intro The Last Airbender in the front yard.
Check out my introduction Weekend in Paris in this video. It is the seedling with a Katydid in the bloom.
Check out some of the toothie daylilies in the above video. WOW!
This video has a lot to see in it. Lots on various introductions.
All these videos were shot in and around peak bloom, so you get to really see all of what I grow here in all it's glory. 2024 was a great season even despite some attacks by the deer on a few nights. I managed to keep them away during the important part of the season and that is what counts. Looking forward to 2025. This will be my last post for the season until fall. Happy gardening.
Favorite pictures from last season.

The summer of 2024 became a battle to try and keep the deer away long enough so I could see my seedlings bloom. There was a short stretch in the early season where one deer managed to sneak in along my neighbor's deck and snack on some daylilies for a couple nights. Fortunately I was able to block that gap with some deer netting and the only daylilies that got eaten were some oldies. Most everything important did bloom and I was lucky to get some nice photos as you can see. Enjoy the picture show!

It was a fun season and each season is never without it's challenges. Well, this past January was one of coldest we've had for some time. I'm happy we are getting closer to the 2025 season. I've made a couple nice additions in terms of daylilies that I've bought for this spring. Can't wait to see them bloom here. If I can keep the damn deer away. Not sure what I will post next, but stay tuned.
Best videos from the summer of 2024
The 2024 season was a season of change. I love shooting videos of the garden all throughout the season. It gives me something to re watch during the boring, long months of winter. The video above was probably my favorite one from 2024. You can see I added a drone to my arsenal and it really gives you a different perspective on the garden from above. I had to learn how to use it in a short time and it wasn't that easy for this 61 year old guy. I like to do my "best of" series of videos and those are featured below. Enjoy!
What a great group. Such a pleasure to be able to capture some of the prettiest daylilies from around the country. I hope you enjoyed them as much as I enjoy making them. I don't know what I have in store next. I am busy working on a different blog about my family ancestry this winter. That is a whole nother can of worms....let me tell you. So, I will try to find something of interest for you my daylily friends in the beginning of 2025. Happy holidays to you all.
