A note on the geometrical thickness of the accretion flow close to the black hole (original) (raw)
ADS
Abstract
Due to general relativistic effects, close to the black hole the transonic part of the accretion flow is geometrically thin. Its relative thickness is H/R 10-2χ/√β where x= 10-1 for extragalactic and x = 1 for galactic black holes and β = (gas pressure)/(total pressure).
