About FriezingWorkz
FriezingWorks is a freeware HyperCard stack which creates friezes from what you draw using the seven frieze groups. It has two purposes. For those interested in transformation geometry, it can be used to demonstrate and/or explore the seven frieze groups. For people who aren't so mathematically minded, FriezingWorkz can simply be used to make nice frieze patterns for use in borders or other artwork. All you have to do is draw a base pattern and choose which frieze group you'd like to use for the frieze - FriezingWorkz adds extra black pixels to make sure the pattern has the required symmetries, and then makes the frieze.
Main Features:
- You can make friezes of any size, with the frieze pattern any shaped rectangle.
- It's easy to use the same picture to make friezes using each of the seven frieze groups - so you can easily see the differences between the diferent frieze groups. The animation above shows the FriezingWorkz logo made into the seven frieze groups - see what interesting patterns can be made with such a simple drawing!
- Finished friezes can be exported as MacPaint files, which will open with ClarisWorks or AppleWorks.
