Scope and arrangement

The Philadelphia Grand Opera Records include 4 folders, with the majority of material from 1931 to 1932. There are programs for the 1931 performance of Wozzeck, and for the world premier of H.P. There is also a script for a 1923 performance of Wozzeck in Leipzig, in the original German. Among the photographs are 4 8x10 Wozzeck set designs and a signed portrait dated 1931, addressed to Mr. And Mrs. Hammer, directors of the company. Press clippings include 9 pages relating to 1931 performances of Wozzeck, and 10 pages on H.P. from 1932. There is one piece of correspondence in the collection, a letter to Mrs. Hammer from the Consul General of Mexico in which he confirms he will be attending the premier of H.P.
