How I do asteroides measurements?:
For such measurements, I use mostly a Celestron C11 telescope with an Atik One 6.0 CCD camera. My mount is mototrised by MCMT. For driving my CCD camera, my mount and for astrometric and photometric measurement, I use PRiSM software. After a good night of observations, I send my Measurement to the MPC (Minor Planet Center), a Part of the IAU (Internationale Astronomical Union).
You can notice that MCMT and PRiSM are developped by french amateurs astronomeurs. Thanks a lot for them to give everybody such powerfull tools.
| A friend's asteroid: (21380)Devanssay Jean-Benoit De Vanssay is a good friend of mine. In 2005 December, Alain Maury gave Jean-Benoit's mane to an asteroid founded in 1998 at the "Observatoire de Cote d'Azur". So the 1998DB20 became (21380)Devanssay Naming citation, from MPC 20051215: (21380) Devanssay = 1998 DB20 Jean Benoit De Vanssay (b. 1970) is a French amateur astronomer and optician. As an amateur he has made several observing missions in the large amateur facilities in France (Pic du Midi, St. V�ran), and as a professional has worked on optics for some of the largest telescopes in the world.
