Monica Olvera de la Cruz
Monica Olvera de la Cruz obtained her Ph.D. in Physics from Cambridge University in 1985. She is the Lawyer Taylor Professor of Materials Science & Engineering, Professor of Chemistry, Physics and Astronomy and Chemical & Biological Engineering at Northwestern University. She Directs the Center for Computation and Theory of Soft Materials. She has developed theoretical models to determine the thermodynamics, statistics, and dynamics of soft materials including multicomponent solutions of heterogeneous synthetic and biological molecules, and molecular electrolytes. She is a National Academy of Sciences member, a PNAS editor, and a member of the Gordon Research Conferences Board of Trustees.
