A fantasy film mixing today's epics like 300, and Lord of the Rings, with the tone of the classics like Willow, and The Princess Bride.
DRAGON WARRIORS is like "The Lord of the Rings" meets "The Princess Bride", sprinkled with some "Willow". We combined what we love about classic fantasy films of the 80's with the amazing CGI elements of the epic films of today. The film has everything you could ask for in a fantasy film - dragons, warriors, orcs, bounty hunters, goblins, wizards, elves, witches, gorgeous maidens in distress, loyal manservants, beautiful princesses, romance, true love, betrayal, magic, a steam powered Juggerwagon, seductive water nymphs, action, comedy, trolls, a giant creature we made up called the Garnack, a celebrity cameo from someone you never thought would do a fantasy movie, and best of all, the amazing JAMES MARSTERS (Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, Smallville) plays the lead villain! I know right?
This independent full-length feature film (90 minute runtime) was shot entirely on a green screen stage and all of the backgrounds are 100% created digitally. It is rare for an independent film to take on such a task so we need your help. GREAT NEWS! Unlike most Kickstarter projects, we have already completed shooting the film, we just need your help with the final, very difficult steps of post production. We need to finish all of the Visual Effects, Music, and Sound. This is a HUGE undertaking. But as you can see from the trailer, we are on track to deliver a great product, we just need the last piece of funding to complete what we set out to do!
VISUAL EFFECTS : With the kickstarter funding we'll hire a team of visual effects artists who will work closely with the Directors on post-production for about 6 months to complete the film. Almost every shot in this film requieres some form of visual effects treatment so there's a lot of work to be done. Apart from creating all the environments digitally, there's a lot of Computer Generated (CG) animated creatures, especially the dragon, that requires talented people and lots of time. To hire these artists we need to be able to pay them a decent wage.
MUSICAL SCORE : We also have to pay the composer for an epic original soundtrack. The music has to match the epic nature of this film. The entire film will be original score so it is a big task.
SOUND DESIGN : Since so much of this film is CG, our sound designer must create all of the sounds of the dragon, the creatures and everything from scratch. This is also a huge undertaking and we will need a team of amazing sound designers to make it sound as amazing and real as it can.
Money will also go to the costs of the rewards, such as shipping and printing costs for DVDs, T-Shirts, Blu-rays, etc.

Remember, this is all or nothing so you are only charged if we reach our goal!

An evil wizard, Lord Tensley, seeks the hand and heart of the beautiful princess, Lady Ennogard. When she refuses, he locks her away and releases a deadly dragon, which he controls, to terrorize the land. He vows that, until she accepts his love, his dragon will destroy all who dare display any sign of love throughout the kingdom. Desperate to end the tyranny, she sends an enchanted dragonfly with a mission to find a true “Dragon Warrior” who is fit to release her from her captor and stop the destruction of the dragon.
Meanwhile a young warrior, Camilan, braves the attacks of the Dragon and plans to marry his true love, the elf princess Larec. But his parents refuse to give their blessing, as marrying outside of their race would forfeit the family birthright. His only hope is to find a wife for his estranged older brother Ramicus, a rogue bounty hunter. But convincing the wild-hearted Ramicus to settle down and secure the family’s inheritance seems a feat as impossible as any heroic quest.
Camilan
reunites with his brother with the hope that he will be able to soften his heart. His attempts are in vain until Lady Ennogard’s dragonfly reaches their camp and relays her call of distress. Enamored by her beauty and lured by the promise of wealth, Ramicus agrees to take on the heroic task. So Ramicus and his Orc sidekick Shokdor, and Camilan and his loyal squire Samton, set off on a journey to rescue Lady Ennogard and put an end to the dragon and the evil reign of the powerful Lord Tensley.
You've seen James (and/or obsessed over him) in the hit TV shows, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, Smallville and many more. We were ecstatic when he agreed to play the lead villain in Dragon Warriors. His performance is incredible, his timing impeccable, you will be blown away by his take on the character. And he's still got the chiseled jaw and amazing hair! You will love to hate him!
You've seen Kaitlin opposite Leonardo DiCaprio in Catch Me If You Can, the cult comedy Waiting and in several Television series including HBO's Hung. Her beauty and acting prowess combine to make the perfect leading lady in the film. WARNING: You may fall in love with her in this film.
Adam's "period" look and incessant charm has landed him in several indie genre films over the years, playing opposite big stars like Gary Cole. You will find him in Orcs!, Orc Wars, Vamp U, Dawn of the Dragonslayer, and the upcoming Mythica series. He is destined to be in Game Of Thrones someday, and bound to become the next heroic ComiCon sensation.
Maclain and Clare, or Maclare (anticipating their celebrity couple name) have appeared in several films together and separately. Find them both in Orcs!, Vamp U and Orc Wars. The stunning actress, Clare, recently starred opposite Danny Trejo in Zombie Hunter and has supporting roles in the upcoming Lifetime original movie The Mentor and the fantasy series Mythica. Maclain is the co-writer/director of Dragon Warriors as well. Watch out for this real life power couple, both on and off the screen!
Mark my words, this man is a star. Hold on to Jake's autograph, because this movie proves his potential to be one of the top names in comedy. He has appeared in Vamp U and Orc Wars and recently worked with the likes of Sam Rockwell, Jemaine Clement, Danny McBride and Will Forte. And yes, he will be signing your DVD if you are so kind to pledge for it.
Watch out Chewbacca, because Shokdor the Orc is in town. Erik brings an amazing physical presence to the bounty hunter, sidekick role of Shokdor. He studied Orc-ish for 9 months to truly nail the nuances of the dialect and it shows in his performance. He doesn't say much but he really steals the show.
I know what you are thinking, what is the 90's heartthrob from Beverly Hills 90210 doing in a fantasy film? Well, even the very dreamy have dreams of wearing medieval armor and swinging a sword. Luke loved the script and was interested in playing a cameo in the film. So we said "Awesome, but try not to steal away the hearts of our significant others." He made no promises, save he would give an awesome cameo performance which he did.
We're a small group of independent filmmakers who love making movies, and have been at it for about a decade. It's our full-time job, and every film we have made has received worldwide distribution. We do pretty much everything ourselves, from conception to financing to production to securing distribution.
