https://hg.python.org/cpython/file/tip/Modules/makesetup#l202 If I try to create a built-in module with a source file named exactly as another source file that already exists in a different module, the script generates the same output path for the object files, creating a conflict.

David, is this still an issue on current versions? Can you spell out the precise steps to reproduce the problem?
