District 1 | Howard County (original) (raw)

Welcome to District 1 — home to over 60,000 people with plenty to celebrate. D1 features nationally-designated historic districts in Ellicott City and Elkridge, vast acreages of state park and other dedicated forestlands, and miles of streambanks along the Patapsco River and its smaller tributaries. At this page, you can find out what our office has been up to and how you can get involved in the development process, including updates on waiver requests to the County and public meetings for D1 development projects.

Out and About in District 1

Ping’s brought her latest masterpiece to #HoCoMd. You can find Tea Horse Sichuan Bistro at 8450 Baltimore National Pike in Ellicott City.

So exciting to hear from Principal Waz about his just-named Guilford Park High School! So much to do before August 2023 to start building a school culture and brand new traditions, together.

It’s a Sylvan Lane Project, and it’s spectacular. Visit Backwater Books — 8156 Main Street, #oldEllicottCity.

So many new walkers and so much fun on #WalkAndRollToSchoolDay🚸 in Dorsey’s Search! Hooray, for Panthers and for Running Brook Elementary!

The Yingling-Ridgely VFW & Auxiliary Post 7472 and Howard High JROTC joined the Eagles of Veterans Elementary School for a Salute to Veterans to recognize "our defenders, the dauntless, the brave."

Stars and Stripes and Reproductive Rights at this July 4th parade through D1's Font Hill.

Oh she looks so sweet, but that little missy at Elkridge Elementary got Liz so good with that first whipped cream pie to the face. Looking out at her from the Elkster cutout, face covered, glops falling off onto the plywood, in sheer disbelief.

I could not be more proud of our D1 team: second summer Friday afternoon in #HoCoMd rent court, figuring out who needs help and how best to get it to them.
