Abstract The dijet mass distribution produced in LHC proton-proton collisions at a center-of-mass energy √s = 8 TeV has been studied with the ATLAS detector using 2012 data with an integrated luminosity of 5.8 fb−1, including dijet masses up to ∼4.1 TeV. No resonance-like features have been observed. A new ATLAS limit excludes excited quarks with masses below 3.66 TeV at 95% C.L. Model-independent limits on sigma × A have also been extended.
