The Crooked Art of Lana Crooks (original) (raw)

I'm on Patreon!

Patreon is a great place to connect more fully with your favorite creators and get more insight into their inner workings. I joined about a month ago and I have been able to interact more than on any other social site. It is easier to respond to comments and share chronological content (something I can no longer do on Instagram or Facebook).

While I am still getting into the groove I have been posting quite a few works in progress, process, and some short videos. I am also preparing quite a few things for the coming months! If you would like to get more involved in my work, come by, give me a follow, or even become a patron.

I had the honor to be the guest curator for October at Stranger Factory. I got to hang an amazing exhibit and work with some really great artists. The show is slowly winding down but the work will still remain online for a little while yet. Visit www.strangerfactory.com to view all the work from all 21 artists!

The exhibition remains up through Halloween and you can contact the gallery to inquire about of any of the work in the show.

Below are some images from the opening reception.

May Exhibitions

I have been quite a busy bee this spring and I have a number of exhibitions opening very soon.

5 Year Anniversary Exhibition

For this exhibition I have teamed up with Kathie Olivas to create a series of custom Batgirl Olives. I have also contributed some fabric elements to a few other figures (as antlers seen below).

Bear in Mind

A custom group exhibition where artists were asked to transform Luke Chueh's blank bear head.
I myself took the form into a very fibrous direction…

Monsters & Misfits IV Opens in Tokyo

The Twins, Kappa, Anemone & Spring Jackalope

All the monsters and misfits have gathered at Shibuya Hikarie in Tokyo, Japan this April! I created four one-of-a-kind creatures for the exhibition. Kathie Olivas, Brandt Peters and I also created a handful of collaboration pieces as well. All pieces are now available from Tomenosuke online.

Stay tuned, later this week I will be sharing process and details of each of my sculptures for this show. Until then please enjoy Tomenosuke's lovely videos from the set up and opening reception:
