General Information Graduate Student and Research AssistantComputer Science and Engineering DeptartmentUniversity of California, San Diego9500 Gilman Drive, La Jolla, CA 92093-0404 Email: bazzaz (at) google (dot) com My CV is available on request. News: I have graduated and now am working at Google Mountain View as a networking software engineer.
Research I’m broadly interested in research and development in various areas in computer networking such as Internet networking, enterprise and datacenter networking, network protocols, network algorithms, distributed application design and mobile computing. In addition, having had a terrific experience with Mechanical Sensei group at Amazon.com, I enjoy applications of Computer Science in real world's problems of any natures using modeling, algorithm, simulation and analysis. Over the course of my studies at UCSD, I was a member of Systems and Networking Group working with my advisor Prof. Amin Vahdat on decreasing the cost and improving the performance of large data center networks architecture in terms of scalability, power efficiency, network management and fault-tolerance through a hybrid electrical/optical appproach.
