Welcome
Update (May 26): I have co-founded KE:SAI — Kyutai ELLIS Scalable Autonomous Intelligence where I am acting as Chief Executive Officer. I am currently on leave of absence from the University of Tübingen.
I am heading the Autonomous Vision Group (AVG) at the University of Tübingen
located in Tübingen, Germany at the heart of CyberValley. I am head of the Department of Computer Science, a core faculty member of the Tübingen AI Center, PI in the cluster of excellence ML in Science and the CRC Robust Vision. I am also an ELLIS fellow and coordinator of the ELLIS PhD program.
My research group is developing machine learning models for computer vision, natural language and robotics with applications in self-driving, VR/AR and scientific document analysis.

📢 We release "Feed-Forward 3D Scene Modeling: A Problem-Driven Perspective" — a comprehensive survey covering 200+ papers on feed-forward 3D reconstruction!
Instead of categorizing by 3D representations, we propose a problem-driven taxonomy.

🚀 New paper: ConeGS Error-Guided Densification Using Pixel Cones. We improve 3D Gaussian Splatting by placing Gaussians where they matter most: ConeGS adds primitives along pixel-view cones guided by image error, boosting quality with fewer Gaussians. baranowskibrt.github.io/conegs/

Excited about this new work from @haoyuhe.bsky.social. TLDR: Diffusion language models treat learning and inference differently which lowers performance. RL can be used to overcome this issue for certain problems.

One concern that I have as an AI researcher when publishing code is that it can potentially be used in dual-use applications.
To solve this, we propose Civil Software Licenses. They prevent dual-use while being minimal in the restrictions they impose:
