The 1979 Uganda National League was the 12th season of the Ugandan football championship, the top-level football league of Uganda. (en) La saison 1979 du Championnat d'Ouganda de football est la dixième édition du championnat de première division ougandais. Quatorze clubs ougandais prennent part au championnat organisé par la fédération. Les équipes rencontrent deux fois leurs adversaires, à domicile et à l'extérieur. En fin de saison, les trois derniers du classement à l'issue de la saison sont relégués et remplacés par les cinq meilleurs clubs de D2, afin de passer à un championnat à seize équipes. C'est le club d’Uganda Commercial Bank FC qui remporte la compétition cette saison après avoir terminé en tête du classement final, avec sept points d'avance sur Kampala City Council. C'est le tout premier titre de champion d'Ouganda de l'histoire du club. Le club de Simba FC, club affilié à l’armée ougandaise est exclu avant le début de la saison, en conséquence de la chute du régime d’Idi Amin Dada. (fr) |
