The 2015 UEC European Track Championships was the sixth edition of the elite UEC European Track Championships in track cycling and took place at the Velodrome Suisse in Grenchen, Switzerland, between 14 and 18 October. The Event was organised by the European Cycling Union. All European champions are awarded the UEC European Champion jersey which may be worn by the champion throughout the year when competing in the same event at other competitions. The 10 Olympic events (sprint, team sprint, team pursuit, keirin and omnium for men and women), as well as 11 other events are on the program for these European Championships. For the first time, the elimination races, known within track cycling as Devils (from the saying Devil take the hindmost) were contested in their own right. (en)
Die 6. UEC-Bahn-Europameisterschaften der Elite (UEC Track Elite European Championships) fanden vom 14. bis 18. Oktober 2015 im Velodrome Suisse im schweizerischen Grenchen statt. Die Europameisterschaften gehören zu den zehn Wettbewerben auf dem Weg zur Qualifikation für die Olympischen Spiele 2016 in Rio de Janeiro. Die Rennen finden in 21 Disziplinen statt; erstmals wurde bei einer EM ein Ausscheidungsfahren ausgetragen. „Ich bin sehr glücklich, dass Swiss Cycling den Zuschlag zur Ausrichtung der Bahn-EM bekommen hat. Neben der Stärkung der Disziplin Bahn in der Schweiz wollten wir die Europameisterschaften in Grenchen ausrichten, damit unsere Fahrer ähnliche Bedingungen wie bei den Olympischen Spielen haben. Die EM wird Teil einer optimalen Vorbereitung auf die Spiele in Rio sein“, sagte Thomas Peter, Chef Leistungssport bei Swiss Cycling. Erfolgreichste Mannschaft der Europameisterschaften war die aus Großbritannien mit sechs Goldmedaillen, von denen fünf von zwei weiblichen Sportlern errungen wurden: Katie Archibald und Laura Trott errangen je dreimal Gold (eine davon gemeinsam in der Mannschaftsverfolgung). Die sechste Goldmedaille der Briten ging an den Bahn-Vierer aus Jonathan Dibben, Owain Doull, Andrew Tennant und Bradley Wiggins. Wiggins feierte mit diesem Sieg seine erfolgreiche Rückkehr auf die Bahn. Die meisten Medaillen gewann die Niederländerin Elis Ligtlee, die sich zweimal Gold, einmal Silber und einmal Bronze in allen Kurzzeitdisziplinen sichern konnte. Zweimal Gold errang die Russin Anastassija Woinowa und fuhr dabei im 500-Meter-Zeitfahren mit 32,794 Sekunden einen neuen Weltrekord. Mit drei Goldmedaillen in Kurzzeitdisziplinen war der Niederländer Jeffrey Hoogland der beste männliche Fahrer. Erfolgreichster Fahrer in den Ausdauerdisziplinen war der Spanier Sebastián Mora mit zwei Goldmedaillen. Vor ausverkauftem Haus wurden die heimischen Rennfahrer für ihre Medaillen besonders gefeiert: Stefan Küng wurde Europameister in der Einerverfolgung, gemeinsam mit dem Vierer (Silvan Dillier, Frank Pasche, Théry Schir) errang er zudem Silber in der Mannschaftsverfolgung. Tristan Marguet gewann Silber im Scratch und Claudio Imhof Bronze im Punktefahren. (de)

Les championnats d'Europe de cyclisme sur piste 2015 ont lieu du 14 au 18 octobre 2015 sur le Vélodrome suisse à Granges en Suisse. Ils sont organisés par l'Union européenne de cyclisme. Les championnats d'Europe sont parmi les dix épreuves octroyant des points pour de la qualification pour les Jeux olympiques d'été de 2016 à Rio de Janeiro. Les 10 épreuves olympiques (vitesse, vitesse par équipes, keirin, poursuite par équipes et omnium pour les hommes et les femmes), ainsi que onze autres épreuves sont au programme de ces championnats d'Europe. Pour la première fois, la course à l'élimination fait son apparition comme épreuve à part entière et décerne un titre européen.
