2022 Afghan Loya Jirga (original) (raw)

In late June and early July 2022, an all-male loya jirga (Pashto for "grand assembly") was held in Kabul, the capital of Afghanistan, which was attended by more than 3,000 Islamic scholars and public figures from across the country. This was the first loya jirga held in Afghanistan since the fall of Kabul into Taliban control August 2021.
