The 4th Hanoi International Film Festival opened on November 1 and closed on November 5, 2016, at Hanoi Friendship Cultural Palace, with the slogan "Cinema - Integration and Sustainable Development" (Vietnamese: "Điện ảnh - Hội nhập và phát triển bền vững"). From more than 500 films submitted, 146 films from 33 countries were selected for screening, of which 12 long films and 30 short films participated in the competition.
