Alfred Cyril Ewing (/ˈjuːɪŋ/; 11 May 1899 – 14 May 1973), usually cited as A. C. Ewing, was an English philosopher and a sympathetic critic of idealism. (en) Alfred Cyril Ewing (* 11. Mai 1899 in Leicester; † 14. Mai 1973 in Manchester) war ein britischer Philosoph. Ewing studierte am University College in Oxford. Er lehrte vier Jahre in Swansea und ab 1931 Moralwissenschaft in Cambridge. Ab 1954 hielt er Vorlesungen über Moralwissenschaft. Ewing glaubte, dass das Studium der Philosophiegeschichte wichtig ist für die philosophische Praxis. Er verteidigte die traditionelle Metaphysik und entwickelt eine Position, die als analytischer Idealismus bezeichnet werden könnte. Von 1941 bis 1942 war der Präsident der Aristotelian Society.
