Ali Al Salem Air Base (ICAO: OKAS) is a military air base situated in Kuwait, approximately 23 miles (37 km) from the Iraqi border, and roughly 15 km west of Al Jahra. The airfield is owned by the Government of Kuwait, and during Operation Southern Watch, Operation Iraqi Freedom, Royal Air Force (RAF) during Operation Telic, United States Air Force (USAF), and United States Marine Corps (USMC) personnel and aircraft. Since those operations, the base has been returned to the control of the Kuwaiti Government, with the USAF continuing to maintain a presence alongside their Kuwait Air Force counterparts. The principal USAF unit on base is the 386th Air Expeditionary Wing (386 AEW). (en)
La Base Aérea Ali Al Salem (en árabe: قاعدة علي السالم الجوية) (ICAO: OKAS) es una base aérea militar situada en Kuwait, a aproximadamente 23 millas de la frontera iraquí. El campo de aviación es propiedad del Gobierno de Kuwait, y durante la Operación Southern Watch y la Operación Telic/Operación Libertad Iraquí fue sede del personal y aeronaves de la Real Fuerza Aérea británica (RAF), la Fuerza Aérea de Estados Unidos (USAF ) y del Cuerpo de Marines de Estados Unidos (USMC ).
