(cs) أنطوني كاري، فيسكونت فوكلاند الخامس (بالإنجليزية: Anthony Cary, 5th Viscount Falkland) ـ (16 فبراير 1656 ـ 24 مايو 1694) هو نبيل وسياسي اسكتلندي. أخذ نبلاء أسرته الذين يحملون لقب «فيسكونت فوكلاند» لقبهم من اسم مقر إقامة ملوك اسكتلندا القدامى في قصر فوكلاند ببلدة فوكلاند بقاطعة فايف الاسكتلندية. ولد أنطوني كاري في قلعة فارلي بمقاطعة سومرست في جنوب غربي إنجلترا، وورث منذ طفولته (سنة 1663) لقب النبالة عن والده هنري كاري، فيسكونت فوكلاند الرابع. تزوج فيونا كاثرين كاري ورزقا بابنة واحدة توفيت في حياة أبيها سنة 1683. رغم كونه اسكتلندي الأصل، صار أنطوني كاري عضوًا في البرلمان الإنجليزي عن دائرة أكسفوردشاير الانتخابية بين عامي 1685 و1689، ممثلًا لحزب التوري، ثم مثّل دائرة مارلو الكبرى عامي 1689 و1690، ثم دائرة بدوين الكبرى من سنة 1690 إلى وفاته. شغل منصب أمين خزانة البحرية الملكية بين عامي 1681 و1689، في عهدي الملكين تشارلز الثاني وجيمس الثاني، ثم صار مفوضًا لقيادة البحرية بين عامي 1690 و1693، قبل أن يصير قائدًا للبحرية الملكية بين عامي 1693 و1694. كان كاري قد اختير أيضًا في سنة 1692 عضوًا بمجلس الخاصة الملكية. كان معاصره صموئيل بيبس يرى أنه متواضع القدرات، غير كفء للمناصب التي شغلها، مشيرًا إلى أن كاري كان معتل الصحة من جراء مرض مزمن. في مارس 1694 اعتُقل كاري في برج لندن بتهمة الاختلاس، ولم يلبث أن توفي بداء الجدري في مايو من العام نفسه، عن عمر يناهز 38 عامًا، ودُفن في دير وستمنستر، ولم يعقب أبناء من الذكور. وقد سميت جزر فوكلاند بهذا الاسم نسبة إليه. Cary war das einzige Kind des (1634–1663), aus dessen Ehe mit Rachel Hungerford († 1657). Er war noch minderjährig, als er beim Tod seines Vaters 1663 dessen Adelstitel als 5. Viscount Falkland und 5. Lord Cary erbte. Cary war zwischen 1685 und 1694 mehrfach Mitglied des englischen House of Commons, zuerst 1685–1687 für Oxfordshire, dann 1689–1690 für Great Marlow und schließlich 1690–1694 für Great Bedwyn. Dies war möglich, da der Adelstitel zur Peerage of Scotland gehörte und nicht automatisch mit einem Sitz im englischen House of Lords verbunden war. Im Parlament stand er der Partei der Tories nahe. Daneben war er 1681–1689 als für die Finanzierung der Royal Navy verantwortlich. Nachdem er 1692 in den Privy Council berufen worden war, war Cary 1693 bis zu seinem Tod als Erster Lord der Admiralität ranghöchster Zivilist in der Royal Navy. He thus served as Tory MP for Oxfordshire for 1685–1689, Great Marlow from 1689 to 1690, and Great Bedwyn from 1690 until his death. He was sworn of the Privy Council of England in 1692 and served as First Lord of the Admiralty from 1693 to 1694. He had previously held office with the latter department as Treasurer of the Navy from 1681 to 1689, under Charles II and James II, and as Commissioner of the Admiralty from 1690 to 1693. Samuel Pepys had a rather low opinion of his abilities, while admitting that he suffered from chronic ill-health. In March 1694 he was committed to the Tower of London on charges of peculation and died of smallpox in May, aged 38, without male issue. He was buried in Westminster Abbey. The Falkland Islands are named in his honour. The Viscounts Falkland in turn take their title from the Scottish monarchs' residence Falkland Palace, in Falkland, Fife, Scotland.
