أرييل 1 (بالإنجليزية: Ariel 1) ويُعرف كذلك بالاسمين (UK-1 وS-55). كان أول الأقمار الاصطناعيَّة البريطانيَّة وكذلك أول الأقمار المُرسلة من ضمن برنامج أرييل الفضائي البريطاني. بإطلاق هذا القمر الاصطناعي أصبحت المملكة المتحدة ثالث دول العالم التي تطلق قمرًا اصطناعيًّا بعد الاتحاد السوفيتي والولايات المتحدة.

Costruito dal Goddard Space Flight Center negli Stati Uniti, è stato messo in orbita nell'aprile 1962, sempre grazie alla collaborazione statunitense. Ciò è stato possibile grazie alla disponibilità americana ad aiutare le altre Nazioni nel settore spaziale, che il Science Research Council (SERC) ha colto nel 1959.
