(ar) Aswat - Palestinian Feminist Center for Gender and Sexual Freedoms, also known as Aswat (Arabic أصوات, meaning Voices), is a feminist organization that advocates for lesbians and other LGBT women in the Palestinian community. The group was founded in 2003, making it the first Palestinian organization for lesbians. It was initially membership-based, but has since transitioned to a movement-based structure. It is based in Haifa. The organization was cofounded by activist Rauda Morcos, who received the Felipe de Souza Award from OutRight Action International for her work with the group. Today, Aswat engages in advocacy work and education while also hosting monthly support group meetings that address sexual orientation, gender identity, and nationality. As of May 2016, its co-director was Ghadir Shafie. (en) Aswat (en árabe أصوات, Voces) es un grupo palestino que lucha por los derechos de las mujeres lesbianas fundado en 2001. Se formó como una sección de mujeres lesbianas dentro de la organización feminista Kayan (كيان) en Haifa. Aswat comenzó como un correo electrónico anónimo de apoyo a mujeres lesbianas palestinas y se fue desarrollando hasta formar un grupo que se reúne mensualmente. Una de sus cofundadoras fue la activista . Organizan diferentes charlas y eventos educativos. En marzo de 2007 organizaron su primera conferencia pública en Haifa, reuniendo a unas 350 personas, provocando la protesta del movimiento islamista que reunió fuera del encuentro a unas 30 personas. Aswat traduce y publica textos originales sobre sexualidad e identidad de género inéditos en árabe. En su página web alberga la mayor colección de textos en árabe relacionados con la homosexualidad y la transexualidad.
