The Bureau of Normalization (NBN; Dutch: Bureau voor Normalisatie; French: Bureau de normalisation) is the Belgian national organization for standardization and is the country's ISO member body. Its name was changed in 2003 from Belgian Institute for Normalization. (en) Le Bureau de normalisation ou NBN (anciennement, Institut belge de normalisation ou IBN) est l’organisme national responsable de la réalisation et publication des normes en Belgique. (fr) Het NBN (Nederlands: Bureau voor Normalisatie, Frans: Bureau de Normalisation) is een Belgische overheidsinstantie die verantwoordelijk is voor het opstellen van normen, en bevorderen van normalisatie. Het NBN volgde in 2003 het Belgisch Instituut voor Normalisatie (BIN) op. Het NBN is verantwoordelijk voor het registreren van EN-normen. Deze, vaak Europees opgelegde, normen betreffen bijvoorbeeld geluidsbescherming en veiligheid. Voor normen op elektrotechnisch gebied draagt het NBN zijn bevoegdheid over naar het Belgisch Elektrotechnisch Comité (BEC). Terwijl vroeger vaak alleen werd uitgegaan van louter industriële belangen, wordt nu op verzoek van de wetgever ook milieu- en consumentenbescherming mee in overweging genomen. In de bibliotheek van het NBN kan men tienduizenden Belgische, internationale en buitenlandse normen raadplegen en aanschaffen. Het NBN is lid van CEN en ISO.
