Castilla elastica, o Arbre de la goma de Panamà, és un arbre, una planta nativa de zones tropicals Mèxic, Amèrica Central, i nord d'Amèrica del Sud. Va ser la principal font de làtex entre els pobles precolombins mesoamericans. El seu làtex es convertia en una goma útil, per exemple per fer-ne les pilotes dels jocs cerimonials, mitjançant la seva mescla amb l'espècie . El nom nàhuatl per l'arbre Castilla elastica és olicuáhuitl; en castellà rep el nom de palo de hule.

The rubber produced by this method found several uses, including most notably, the manufacture of balls for the Mesoamerican ballgame ōllamaliztli. The Nahuatl word for rubber was ulli / olli, from which their word for the ballgame derived), and also their name for the ancient people they associated with the origin of the ballgame, the Olmecs (olmeca: "rubber people"). Het is een boom uit de familie de Moerbeifamilie en het geslacht Castilla. In de Precolumbiaanse periode was het voor de volkeren in Midden-Amerika de voornaamste bron van latex.
