Elinor Greer Constable (born 1934) is a diplomat and former United States Ambassador to Kenya (1986–89). She was nominated for the position by Ronald Reagan. She graduated from Wellesley College and speaks Spanish and Urdu. Before becoming ambassador, she had a career as a Foreign Service officer. After leaving her post as ambassador, she was Assistant Secretary of State for Oceans and International Environmental and Scientific Affairs from 1993 to 1995. She is a member of the American Academy of Diplomacy. She was married to the late Peter Dalton Constable, former Director General of the Multinational Force and Observers in the Sinai Peninsula and for ambassador to Zaire. She has served on the Board of Directors of Search for Common Ground since 2000.
