Hon. Erstus Awortu also known as Chief Barr. Erastus Awortu is a Nigerian lawyer and politician. He was elected Mayor (Chairman) of the Andoni Local government area of Rivers State in 2021. Erastus Awortu is now family name in Rivers State for restoring peace between ravaging cult groups in Andoni (Obolo) which have earned him many awards and accolades especially the revered traditional Chieftaincy title: "Ogwu - ibot - Esu I of Obolo Land", which is translated as the No.1 Advocate of Peace of the Obolo people conferred on him by His Eminence King (Dr.) I. U Otuo IX, JP. Okaan-Ama of ancient Unyeada Kingdom during the 2022 edition of Unyeada Fishing Festival - Ijok-Irin.
