Das Europäische Programm für forstgenetische Ressourcen (EUFORGEN) ist ein internationales Netzwerk zum Erhalt und der nachhaltigen Nutzung forstgenetischer Ressourcen in Europa. Zu den Kernaufgaben des Programms gehören die Koordinierung und Unterstützung der In-situ- und Ex-situ-Erhaltung forstgenetischer Ressourcen, die Förderung des Informationsaustauschs und der internationalen Zusammenarbeit, sowie die Sensibilisierung der Öffentlichkeit für die Bedeutung der Erhaltung forstgenetischer Ressourcen. EUFORGEN wird von den Mitgliedsländern finanziert und agiert in Arbeitsgruppen, die von Experten aus ganz Europa gebildet werden. In enger Zusammenarbeit werden Wissen ausgetauscht, Politiken und Praktiken analysiert und wissenschaftsbasierte Strategien entwickelt, um das Management forstlicher Genressourcen zu verbessern. European Forest Genetic Resources Programme (EUFORGEN) is an international network that supports the conservation and sustainable use of forest genetic resources in Europe. The programme’s tasks include to coordinate and promote in situ and ex situ conservation of forest genetic resources, to facilitate the exchange of information, and to increase public awareness of the need to conserve forest genetic resources. EUFORGEN is funded by member countries and operates through working groups formed by experts from across Europe who meet to exchange knowledge, analyse policies and practice, and develop science-based strategies to improve the management of forest genetic resources. EUFORGEN was established in 1994. Its secretariat, hosted by the European Forest Institute, is located in Barcelona, Spain. (en)
Il Programma Europeo per le Risorse Genetiche Forestali (EUFORGEN) è un network internazionale che promuove la protezione e l’uso sostenibile delle risorse genetiche forestali in Europa. Il programma si occupa di coordinare e promuovere la conservazione in situ ed ex situ delle risorse genetiche forestali, per facilitare lo scambio di informazioni e aumentare la consapevolezza dell’importanza della loro salvaguardia. EUFORGEN è finanziato dai Paesi membri e il suo lavoro viene svolto tramite gruppi di lavoro composti da esperti provenienti da diversi paesi europei. Gli esperti si riuniscono per condividere le conoscenze, analizzare le politiche e le pratiche forestali e sviluppare strategie, basate sull’evidenza scientifica, per migliorare la gestione delle risorse genetiche forestali. Zadania programu obejmują koordynowanie i promowanie ochrony in situ i ex situ leśnych zasobów genowych, w celu ułatwienia wymiany informacji i wzrostu świadomości społecznej dotyczącej potrzeby ich ochrony. EUFORGEN jest finansowany przez kraje członkowskie, a jego działania odbywają się poprzez pracę grup roboczych złożonych z ekspertów z różnych krajów Europy. Powołani eksperci spotykają się w celu wymiany wiedzy, analizy założeń politycznych i praktycznych oraz rozwoju, opartych na podstawach naukowych, strategii doskonalenia zarządzania leśnymi zasobami genowymi.
