William A. Shine Great Neck South High School (commonly Great Neck South, South High School, or GNSHS) is a four-year public high school located in the Lake Success village of Great Neck, New York. The school serves students in grades 9 through 12 and is in the Great Neck school district. As of the 2016–17 school year, the school had an enrollment of 1,193 students and 111.56 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 10.69:1. There were 180 students (15% of enrollment) eligible for free lunch and 46 (3.9% of students) eligible for reduced-cost lunch.
