Haptanthus hazlettii je druh rostliny z čeledi zimostrázovité a jediný druh rodu Haptanthus. Po dlouhou dobu byla rostlina známa pouze z jediného sběru v roce 1980 v Hondurasu a její zařazení v rámci taxonomie dvouděložných rostlin bylo nejasné. Znovu byla nalezena v roce 2010.

Finalement, le 23 avril 2010, un pied est apparu dans les jumelles de deux botanistes russes partis à sa recherche. En raison de sa localisation au Honduras et de sa rareté, cet arbre n'a naturellement pas de nom vernaculaire en français ou en anglais.
