Serbia ranked 65th in the world in life expectancy in 2018 with 73.3 years for men and 78.5 years for women. As of 2018, it had a low infant mortality rate (4.86 per 1,000 live births). As of 2017, it had 2.96 practicing physicians (not including Kosovo) per 1,000 people. With 14.55 deaths per 1,000 persons, Serbia is among the world's ten countries with the highest mortality rate.
