Henry Alcazar (original) (raw)

Sir Henry Albert Alcazar (30 September 1860 – 13 July 1930) was a Trinidadian politician who served as the mayor of Port of Spain and a member of the Legislative Council of Trinidad and Tobago. A reformer, Alcazar campaigned for the inclusion of elected members in the Legislative Council. In the aftermath of the 1903 Water Riots, Alcazar successfully defended people charged with inciting a riot. In 1915 he was appointed to the Executive Committee which advised the governor, and was knighted in 1918.
