Isabella, Three Sailing Ships and a Con Man (Italian title: Isabella, tre caravelle e un cacciaballe) is a 1963 two-act play by Italian playwright Dario Fo, the recipient of the 1997 Nobel Prize in Literature. Some people got angry: Fo received threatening letters, was assaulted in Rome with Rame by Fascist groups who also threw rubbish at them, while another performance was disrupted by a bomb scare. He recounted this event in the prologue of Johan Padan and the Discovery of the Americas.

Weiterhin erzählt das Stück die Schiffsreisen Kolumbus und die vermeintliche Entdeckung Amerikas (welches laut dem Stück in Wirklichkeit durch einen der Seeleute Kolumbus' erfolgte). Kolumbus wird in diesem Stück als ein schlitzohriger Egoist dargestellt, der einzig auf seinen eigenen Vorteil bedacht ist. Viele Details der tatsächlich überlieferten Geschichte wurden in dieses Stück übernommen. So wird auch auf den Sieg Ferdinands über Granada eingegangen und es existierten viele dieser Personen auch in der uns bekannten Geschichte der Entdeckung Amerikas. Quanto raccontato in scena si ispira a un fatto vero: attorno al 1500, in Spagna, un attore fu condannato al rogo per eresia in quanto aveva interpretato un lavoro di Fernando de Rojas, autore di origine ebraica e quindi all'indice per l'Inquisizione.
