Stein (engl. jewel, franz. pierre oder rubis) bezeichnet in der Uhrmacherei ein aus Edelsteinen gefertigtes Lager. Diese Lagersteine sind z. B. Lochsteine, Decksteine, Wälzlagersteine, Palettensteine und die Ellipse in Uhrwerken. Der Hersteller der Steine wurde Pierrist oder Uhrensteinmacher genannt.
