Joseph Darcy Bishop-Henchman (né Henchman; born January 4, 1981) is an American attorney and politician. As of August 2022, Bishop-Henchman has served as executive vice president of the National Taxpayers Union. Bishop-Henchman was the 20th chair of the Libertarian National Committee, the governing body of the Libertarian Party, from July 11, 2020 until his resignation on June 19, 2021. Bishop-Henchman resigned after the Libertarian National Committee declined to disaffiliate the Libertarian Party of New Hampshire, which had made a series of controversial tweets, including calling for the legalization of child labor and the repeal of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. In his resignation letter, Bishop-Henchman wrote of "toxic" elements "taking over the party and making it as repulsive as possible to everyone except themselves", in reference to the Mises Caucus, a paleolibertarian faction within the party. Bishop-Henchman had previously served as chair of the Libertarian Party of the District of Columbia from June 19, 2018 until February 27, 2021. (en)
