• Kootenay West is a provincial electoral district in British Columbia, Canada, established by the Electoral Districts Act, 2008. It was first contested in the 2009 general election. The riding is seen as a safe NDP seat; the party has won 12 out of the last 13 elections. Before the NDP victory in 1972, the riding voted consistently for Social Credit. (en)
