Lentitheciaceae es una familia de hongos en el orden Pleosporales. Sus taxones tienden a habitar en zonas de vegetación acuática dulce o en tierra firme y son saprofitas, a menudo creciendo sumergidos o parcialmente sumergidos.

Lentitheciaceous taxa are saprobic (living on dead tissue) on herbaceous and woody plants having narrow peridia, fusiform to broadly cylindrical pseudoparaphyses (sterile, thread-like filaments), hyaline (glassy appearance) ascospores with 1–3-transverse septa and containing refractive globules, surrounded by a mucilaginous sheath or extended appendage-like sheaths and asexual morphs producing stagonospora-like or dendrophoma-like asexual morphs.
