Megalocnus és un gènere fòssil de peresosos gegants que poblaren el Carib durant el Plistocè. Se'ns coneixen dues espècies: M. rodens, els fòssils del qual s'han trobat a Cuba, i M. zile, que habità l'illa de L'Espanyola.

Die größte Art aus Kuba war zugleich das größte karibische Bodenfaultier und erreichte vermutlich ein Körpergewicht von etwa 200 kg. Die letzten Funde dieser Art werden auf ein Alter von etwa 6000 Radiokohlenstoffjahren datiert. Eine weitere Art der Gattung ist aus dem Quartär von Hispaniola.
