Der Mighty Blackpool FC (Spitzname: The Tis-Tas Boys) ist ein Fußballverein aus Freetown, der Hauptstadt des westafrikanischen Sierra Leone. Der Verein spielt in der höchsten Spielklasse, der Sierra Leone Premier League. Er ist mit insgesamt 14 Titeln, davon acht vor 1980, Rekordmeister des Landes. Zuletzt 2006 gewannen Mighty Blackpool den Pokalwettbewerb, den der Verein insgesamt sechs Mal gewinnen konnte. Zu den bekanntesten (ehemaligen) Spielern gehören Kabba Samura, Umaru Bangura und Lamin Suma. Der Verein war 1923 unter dem Namen Socro United gegründet worden und erhielt 1958 seinen heutigen Namen. Mighty Blackpool is a Sierra Leonean football club based in the capital Freetown. They play in the Sierra Leone National Premier League, the top football league in the country. Blackpool represents the West End of Freetown and their home games are played at the National Stadium in Freetown. The club was founded in 1923 under the name Socro United and they are the oldest and most successful football club in Sierra Leone, having won the Premier League fifteen times and the FA Cup four times. They changed their name to Mighty Blackpool in 1954 to show their admiration for the former Blackpool and England player Sir Stanley Matthews. Mighty Blackpool have an intense rivalry with city rivals East End Lions. (en)

Mighty Blackpool is een Sierra Leoonse voetbalclub uit hoofdstad Freetown. De club werd in 1923 opgericht als Socro United en is daarmee de oudste club van het land. Het is tevens de meest succesvolle club van het land met elf landstitels. De aartsrivaal van de club zijn de East End Lions. In 1989 bereikte de club de kwartfinale van de Afrikaanse beker der kampioenen en was daarmee de eerste Sierra Leoonse club die daarin slaagde. Nadat regerende kampioen ES Sétif en Djoliba AC uitgeschakeld werden moest de club in de kwartfinale de duimen leggen voor Tonnerre Yaoundé. (nl)
