Model auta (hovorově angličák) je zmenšenina reálného automobilu v určitém měřítku (1:160, 1:120, 1:87, 1:72, 1:55, 1:48, 1:45, 1:43, 1:35, 1:32, 1:24, 1:18, 1:16, 1:12, 1:10, 1:9, 1:8). Modely se vyrábějí z kovu (např. slitiny zinku a hliníku), plastu a gumy. Předlohou jsou často skutečné značky automobilů. (cs) Ein Automodell oder Modellauto ist die maßstäblich verkleinerte Nachbildung eines Automobils. Dies können Personenwagen, Lieferwagen, Busse, Lastwagen mit verschiedenen Aufbauten sowie Baufahrzeuge und landwirtschaftliche Fahrzeuge sein. Der Zusammenbau solcher Modelle wird im Rahmen des Modellbaus verbreitet als Hobby betrieben. Für jeden Bereich gibt es aber auch fertige Modelle zu kaufen.
