Halton Arp gliederte seinen Katalog ungewöhnlicher Galaxien nach rein morphologischen Kriterien in Gruppen. Diese Galaxie gehört zu der Klasse Spiralgalaxien mit einem elliptischen Begleiter auf einem Arm (Arp-Katalog). Die Galaxie wurde am 23.
