El Centro Nacional de Educación a Distancia (en francés Centre national d'enseignement à distance, abreviado Cned) es una institución pública francesa bajo supervisión del Ministerio de Educación Nacional dedicada a promover la educación a distancia. La institución se creó en 1939 y provee material en-línea desde mediados de los años 1990. Los 3000 programas que componen la oferta van desde guardería hasta nivel de educación universitario. En 2006 contaba con 350.000 estudiantes registrados, 30.000 de ellos residentes en el extranjero. Aproximadamente 120.000 son estudiantes de nivel universitario. (es)

The National Centre for Distance Education (Centre national d'enseignement à distance or Cned in French) is a French public institution under the oversight of the Department of Education dedicated to providing distance learning material. It was created in 1939 and has been providing on-line material since the mid-1990s. The 3000 programs it offers range from kindergarten to university level. In 2006, about 350,000 students were registered, 30,000 living outside France. Of these, approximately 120,000 are higher education students ranging from polytechnic through to masters level. CNED offer the opportunity to study at a high level, while living in any country, or travelling around the globe. Students can study with books, or online (which is easier to carry when travelling).
