NonVisual Desktop Access (NVDA) és un lector de pantalla de programari lliure per als sistemes operatius Windows de 32 i 64 bits. El projecte va ser iniciat per Michael Curran l'any 2006. Podle těchto průzkumů 43% uživatelů NVDA běžně používá, 13,7% z nich pak uvádí, že NVDA používají jako primární screen reader. Ve stejném období naopak klesal podíl JAWS, který ale s 64% nadále zůstal nejpoužívanější, jako primární ho používá téměř polovina uživatelů (49.1%). Der überwiegende Anteil von NVDA ist in Python programmiert, einige wenige Teile jedoch auch in C++. Von der Version 2010.2 Beta1 an wird der Bildschirminhalt auch mittels ausgelesen. Jedoch verwendet es standardmäßig Accessibility-Frameworks wie (MSAA), das neuere oder die (JAB). Das Projekt verwendet die GNU General Public License. NVDA enthält den integrierten Sprachsynthesizer eSpeak und unterstützt zusätzlich weitere Sprachsynthesizer wie u. a. SAPI-Synthesizer.
