Northern Pakistan is a geographic region that encompasses the Pakistani administrative units of Gilgit–Baltistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, and the Murree District of Pakistani Punjab. It is a mountainous region straddling the Himalayas, and accounts for a high level of Pakistan's tourism industry.
