(ar) Nuclear pharmacy, also known as radiopharmacy, involves preparation of radioactive materials for patient administration that will be used to diagnose and treat specific diseases in nuclear medicine. It generally involves the practice of combining a radionuclide tracer with a pharmaceutical component that determines the biological localization in the patient. Radiopharmaceuticals are generally not designed to have a therapeutic effect themselves, but there is a risk to staff from radiation exposure and to patients from possible contamination in production. Due to these intersecting risks, nuclear pharmacy is a heavily regulated field. The majority of diagnostic nuclear medicine investigations are performed using technetium-99m. (en) La radiopharmacie est une activité de pharmacie hospitalière publique ou privée qui se déroule au sein du service de médecine nucléaire.Le terme de radiopharmacie regroupe l’ensemble des moyens humains et matériels nécessaires à l’exercice de cette activité, qui utilise des sources radioactives non scellées pour la préparation de médicaments radiopharmaceutiques (MRP) utilisés en médecine nucléaire.Les missions du radiopharmacien sont d’assurer : * la gestion, l’approvisionnement et la détention des médicaments radiopharmaceutiques, trousses, générateurs et précurseurs et de contribuer à la sécurisation du circuit des MRP ; * la préparation des MRP ; les préparations radiopharmaceutiques stériles obtenues sont généralement multidoses, impliquant un respect strict des règles d’asepsie, en plus des règles de radioprotection relatives à la manipulation de sources radioactives non scellées ; * le contrôle, et la dispensation nominative des MRP ; * la double traçabilité des MRP, pharmaceutique et de leur radionucléide ; * le contrôle des équipements et des locaux ; * la gestion, en collaboration avec la personne compétente en radioprotection (PCR) des déchets radioactifs et assurer un rôle de formation et d’information auprès du personnel de l’établissement.
