El tití ornat (Plecturocebus ornatus) és una espècie de tití, un tipus de mico del Nou Món. És endèmic de Colòmbia. Els grups de titís ornats solen estar compostos per entre dos i quatre individus, que normalment són una parella monògama i una o dues cries seves.

Une révision taxinomique des callicèbes publiée en 2016 a proposé de reclasser ce groupe dans un nouveau genre : Plecturocebus. As it is a member of this family, it is classified as a type of New World monkey. It is endemic to eastern Colombia, and the only member of the Plecturocebus moloch group to occur north of the Rios Amazonas/Solimes/Napo axis, living at least 350 km away from the closest other member, the white-tailed titi (Plecturocebus discolor), which lives in the south of Colombia. It was once classified as the same species as the white-tailed titi, but is now officially recognized as its own species. The ornate titi is also terrestrial. The ornate titi is present on the IUCN Red List of endangered species, being recognized as “Vulnerable”, and having a general decrease in population trends. Inga underarter finns listade. Vuxna exemplar är 30,4 till 36 cm långa (huvud och bål), har en 38,3 till 45 cm lång svans och väger i genomsnitt 1170 g. Hannar är lite större än honor. Håren som bildar pälsen på ovansidan och på huvudets topp har mörkbruna och ljusbruna avsnitt och pälsen ser därför spräcklig ut. Kännetecknande är en vit horisontal strimma ovanför ögonen och ett rött skägg över kinderna, hakan och strupen. Även buken och extremiteternas insidor är rödaktiga. Svansen är främst täckt av vitaktig päls. Endast ett kort avsnitt nära bålen är på ovansidan rödaktig. Denna springapa förekommer i centrala Colombia öster om Anderna. Arten förekommer främst i tropiska regnskogar men även i andra skogar. Flocken har vanligen upp till 6 medlemmar och består av ett föräldrapar och deras ungar. De rör sig på fyra ben eller hoppande. Reviret är 14 till 18 hektar stort och anspråket visas av paret på morgonen genom höga skrik som liknar en duett. Födans utgörs främst av frukter samt av blad, blommor och insekter. (sv) |
