Packers–Vikings rivalry (original) (raw)

The Packers–Vikings rivalry is an NFL rivalry between the Green Bay Packers and Minnesota Vikings. CBS ranked it the #3 NFL rivalry of the 2000s. In the modern era, the Minnesota Vikings have been considered the biggest NFC North challenger to the Green Bay Packers. While the Packers have won almost 75% of its games against the Chicago Bears and Detroit Lions since the beginning of quarterback Brett Favre’s first season in 1992, they have only won ~50% of their games against the Vikings (going 33–28–2 in that time period). Thus, while the Bears–Packers rivalry is more historical, this is considered by many to be the most important NFC North match-up in determining the eventual division winner.
