Palaeonympha is a monotypic butterfly genus of the subfamily Satyrinae in the family Nymphalidae. Its one species, Palaeonympha opalina, is found in Taiwan and China. The larvae of subspecies macrophthalmia feed on , Oplismenus undulatifolius (including var. microphyllus) and Miscanthus sinensis.
