(ar) La responsabilidad parental, corresponsabilidad parental o responsabilidad parental mancomunada es una institución del derecho de familia que regula las relaciones entre padres y madres, con sus hijos e hijas, así como otras relaciones equivalentes destinadas a cuidar, atender y educar a los niños. En algunos casos la denominación fue adoptada para diferenciar el régimen de responsabilidad parental, del régimen de patria potestad, especialmente con respecto al origen y muchas veces el contenido patriarcal que tiene esta última institución jurídica. La responsabilidad parental está fundada en la noción de coparentalidad de las personas reconocidas como responsables parentales del niño, así como en los derechos de la niñez, en el marco de la Convención sobre los Derechos del Niño. Poiché il minore è privo della capacità di agire, per lui agisce il genitore in qualità di rappresentante e, più precisamente, di rappresentante legale, derivando i suoi poteri direttamente dalla legge. Un tempo tale insieme di poteri era attribuito al solo padre, donde la denominazione di patria potestà; negli ordinamenti contemporanei la potestà genitoriale è andata via via sostituendosi alla patria potestà, sebbene tale evoluzione si sia compiuta in tempi diversi e non abbia ancora toccato la totalità degli ordinamenti.
