Paul Allman Siple (December 18, 1908 – November 25, 1968) was an American Antarctic explorer and geographer who took part in six Antarctic expeditions, including the two Byrd expeditions of 1928–1930 and 1933–1935, representing the Boy Scouts of America as an Eagle Scout. In addition to being an Eagle Scout, Siple was also a Sea Scout. His first and third books covered these adventures. With Charles F. Passel he developed the wind chill factor, and Siple coined the term.

Dazu führten sie im Winter 1941 während der dritten von Byrd geleiteten Antarktisexpedition (1939–1941) ein entsprechendes Experiment an einem Modell durch und übertrugen die daraus gewonnenen Erkenntnisse auf den Menschen. Siple war Leiter West Base (auch bekannt als Little America III) während der United States Antarctic Service Expedition (1939–1941). Hier nahm er als Navigator an allen wichtigen Erkundungsflügen teil. Bei einem dieser Flüge wurde ein Vulkan entdeckt, der später nach ihm benannt wurde (Mount Siple). Siple war von 1946 bis 1947 im Auftrag der US-Armee Teilnehmer an der antarktischen Operation Highjump, einem Unternehmen der US Navy. Von 1956 bis 1957 war er der erste wissenschaftliche Leiter der Amundsen-Scott-Südpolstation. Als „Director of Scientific Projects“ war er ferner an der Planung des Internationalen Geophysikalischen Jahres beteiligt, das vom 1. Juli 1957 bis zum 31. Dezember 1958 stattfand. Von 1963 bis 1966 diente er als erster US-amerikanischer Wissenschaftsattaché für Australien und Neuseeland. In der Ausgabe vom 31. Dezember 1956 widmete das TIME-Magazin Siple eine Titelgeschichte und sein Bild war auf der Titelseite. Neben der Siple-Küste, der Siple-Insel, dem Siple Dome und der 1969 errichteten Siple-Station in Ellsworthland trägt auch der antarktische Vulkan Mount Siple seinen Namen.
