Peerage of Science é uma companhia criada por Janne Kotiaho, Janne Kotiaho e Janne-Tuomas Seppänen, três cientistas finlandeses cujo objetivo é o de mudar o padrão de revisão por pares que comumente é aplicado aos artigos científicos.

The company was founded in 2011 by the scientists Janne Kotiaho, Mikko Mönkkönen, and Janne-Tuomas Seppänen in Jyväskylä, Finland. Initially it focused on the areas of "ecology, evolutionary biology and conservation biology", but within 2 years it expanded to other areas of science. The service was the winner of the 2012 Award for Publishing Innovation from The Association of Learned and Professional Society Publishers (ALPSP), and of the 2013 recognition award from Communications Professionals of Finnish Universities. Despite its admirable goals and attraction of several paying customers (Society for Conservation Biology , , Taylor & Francis) the company failed to expand its market base (it received only 102 submissions in 2017 and only 60% of submissions received at least one publishing offer ) and went out of business soon after.
